Sweat
Rip Rend, agent of S.W.E.A.T. - Special Weapons Engaged in Anti-terrorist Tactics. Sorry Trevour, I just had to post something and this was handy. But you have the original, you lucky devil.
yeah i wish there was some kinda big great ripping friends film. less nelvana studio crud and more dark jim smith-type intensity. like in that damn post!
great blog, jim. great stuff everywhere. yr post of the old woobridge & dave berg stuff made me go back through my 50s MAD archives.
wasn't MAD just the most perfect comic ever?
i wish society (is that the word?) still had that cool-stories-and-art-for-10-cents-an-issue sensibility around.
EC had a quality that won't ever be repeated, huh.
Great stuff Jim. Just curious, have you done lots of studies of anatomy? Do you know all the muscles of the lower quadrant of the left circumference of the buttox? What I mean to say, did you learn a lot of technical shit? It's obviously simplified, but how informed is it?
To katz: First I sold my soul then watched a lot of erotic films, freeze framing and drawing the key frames. Seriously it is a lot of life drawing, copying Frazetta, freeze framing sports. and a little erotica for spice. How you doin?
Doin great Jim. I'm still workin on this new short film. Once I get enough presentable material, I'll send it your way to see what you think. Maybe discuss over beers sometime or sumfin.
That RF cartoon happened to be on 'Teletoon' yesterday.. I know it was an Ottawa episode. And some of the drawings in it, made me cringe.. But it's still pretty entertaining.. Especially the "Pain Chair" sequence, where it looks like a bit of extra Production money was spent..
Absolutely amazing, intense drawing! The viewer can almost physically feel Rip's pain... I mean, pleasure. I really miss the Ripping Friends. Despite all problems, the show was very entertaining, and these characters deserve another life, at least in the form of comic book. Does John still own the rights to Ripping Friends?
Jim - that's GREAT!!! That's definitely for display on the living room wall.
ReplyDeleteIt always blows me away how you can do drawings of giant muscular dudes and still make them look loose and cartoony!
ReplyDeleteLove the toes.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the bulges.
i want that tattoed on my back!
