I daresay your original sketch is more powerful than the actual painting that was in "Big House". Lots more energy.
I want to put that on a T-Shirt. I wonder if we could go down to Kinkos and have them do that. I promise I'll wear it at Comic-Con. Girl Scout's honor.
What a fantastic drawing!! I agree with Michelle, it's even better than finished painting. The action is more clear and easier to understand in your sketch. And that expression on the face of Stimpy's ancestor is priceless! Do you have any other "Big House Blues" rarities and sketches? It remains one of my favorite Ren & Stimpy episodes.
Jim, I get the same feeling as Chloe there re: R&S sometimes...for instance: the other day Jeff Pidgeon posted a photo of that old Stimpy "spitting" squeeze toy and it made me flash back to the day I first saw that damn toy(and bought it)in that store downstairs in the Galleria, Cartoon Junction or whatever. I told Jeff I was SO thrilled to see YOUR characters being...sold...in real honest-to-God plastic! In a retail store! Amazing. Weird! Wild! Kids today can't imagine how strange it was to see those designs popularized. Now it's all taken for granted.
And this drawing or yourn is masterful, of course. Even better than a toy. Beautiful.
Yeah, I read your complete profile. not exactly complete is it. What's your favorite book? What's your favorite cheese? Actually I don't care. just keep sticking drawings up on this thing.
To katzenjammer: I animated some of the pilot episode and all of the Chestacles animatic except for the Frank Forte scenes. I'll post some of the roughs. I have none of the Ren & Stimpy stuff. I animated the scene of them shivering in the rain and the dog catcher in his truck scene.
To duckdodgers: I have some of those somewhere, and a few are in the first sketchbook, Lonely are the Naked. We did a couple of storyboards on Jimmy but I don't know where they are. I will post whatever I can find.

Hey, Jim I saw the cartoon that this is from today for the first item, and I gotta say, the original drawing is much better than the painting in the cartoon.
