The Duke

For Memorial Day - Duke is 100 years old and they're playing 100 hours of John Wayne on AMC. I'm a watchin' every minute.

  2. Aw! I love the Duke--and your drawing.

You'd have loved the candid snapshot of him a friend of mine had: Wayne was at a nightclub in San Francisco or somewhere, and he was shakin' it with this dark-haired spitfire; he'd clearly had quite a few and a sing behind them read "Dance the cha-cha with Chi-Chi". Oh, and he was sans his rug, too. Priceless! He sure knew how to have a good time. : )

  4. To jenny: Thanks Jenny. There's a famous shot of Wayne somewhere in hot pants, a purse and a big floppy straw ladies hat. It was in one of those Hollywood exposed or something. Just killed my whole image of the "Duke"

  5. To jenny: Oops I sent that response on my friend Jennifer's account by mistake.

  6. To arf: Yes I like that one mostly because of the character played by Richard Boone. Great, crazy villain. Kind of eccentric. Also the blood is really bright red. Weird movie.
