Hey Rick, yes I did a storyboard freelance on the "Two-Face" episode part deaux. It was just after the R&S collapse. I like Batman in all his various identities.
That is so.... AWESOME! You draw an awesome Two-Face. That was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid (along with Ren & Stimpy). Thank you for posting this. It's beautiful and very manly. Top-notch.
Jim, that's great you got on another show that revolutionized TV animation. Personally, my very favorite Bat stories were back in the 70's by Steven Engelheart and Denny O'Neill.
It's amazing how many incarnations of this character have been introduced. It is a tribute to how much people love the concept. I just wish the morons in charge of the studios would have sense enough to take a chance on new stuff. (Ripping Friends - hint, hint). Another shameless plug.
They did a mini-version of Frank Miller's Batman in the later Batman animated series (where it became even more stylized and agular). However, a full film about it would be awesome.
Personally I have never been a big fan of Miller's Batman but I do admire some of his ideas in THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. For example, the Joker's state of hibernation during Batman's absence then is bizarre return ending with his own suicide.

Yeah, that was pretty good. Frank Miller was a good writer. Somewhere along the line he seemed to go insane and now we have "All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder". Remember, he's the goddamn Batman.

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen "The Spirit" either, but from what I've seen and heard, he basically took Will Eisner's characters and put them into Sin City.
