Front and back cover from a collection of Stooges comics from early "50s. Check out the contrast between realistic rendition or the artists and the cartoony style for the stories. Norman Mauer is the son in law of Moe. Beautiful stuff.
Wow, I've never seen these before, they kinda have an Owen Fitzgerald quality to them. Comes off a lot more appealing to me than the animated characters they did in the 60's.
There is a definite Owen Fitzgerald feel to this. Do you think they were trying to capitalize on the success of the Bob Hope and Martin and Lewis comics? I will say that the art style is actually quite fitting for the Stooges.

I can't be sure about the Owen influence, this is the first time I've seen these comics. It's a great find thanks to my pal Aidan.
