The best movie DVD commentary I ever heard was Ralph Bakshi on "Wizards" He goes into a wonderful tour of the animation business and how he became a director and the state of animation. Truly a gem that is yet to be discovered or I am way behind the curve.

I love the commentary on Wizards, never a dull moment. The short documentary with Ralph in it is also great. I was hoping he would talk about working with you, John, and Eddie on Mighty Mouse. How long did you work at Bakshi's and on what features?
To max: Yes, I forgot to mention the docu. That was the best part. John was working with Ralph for a year ro more when I came to the Harlem Shuffle. I was on Mighty Mouse for both seasons and then did some development before joining John and Eddie on Beany and Cecil. Ralph has a hard time remembering names so I was called everything from Johnny to Tommy to Tex and then he would get it. "How you doin' Jimmy? Do you love me?" John was the one whose name he usually remembered cause John was his favorite!
Hey, Jim
"Wizards" is much better with Ralph's commentary! He's basically telling us the movie he wanted to make but didn't have the budget. I never reall "got" Wizards, but it kind of makes sense with the voice over.
To Kent: You may be right. He had a whole other movie in his head. Financial realities led to the heavy use of roto. I especially like when he tells the story of how he became a animator by moving his desk from the assistants room to the animators room and just started animating without asking anybody. Such chuztpah!(Is that way to spell that?)
