Copies of Disney sketches with a drawing of my cat, mid 1980s. Copy the masters and learn to draw the easy way.

Damn right!

Rooni, also remember to copy exactly, without reinterpretation, unless you already have distinct ability or style. When drawing a live model the idea is to draw what's there in front of you to maxmize the short time the model is giving you. All this will be in the book. Thanks for staying with me.

your making a book?

Jimbo said...

Yes Nubian, but it will be next year as I am working to finish my comic. I've been making notes for the book and the title will be "How to Draw the Manly Way but Girls can Use it Too!"

These were copied from Preston Blair's book - a bible among cartoonists and animators. If you haven't seen it try to get a copy. Although it dates back to the 1930s the principles are still very much relevant. The theories on construction apply to just about any drawing, painting, sculpture, etc. endeavour. (sp)

I have Preston Blair's book. It really is learning the easy way.

But I also wanna learn to draw "the manly way".
