Frank Frazetta

This painting, among others by Frank, knocked me out and I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I stared and copied and stared, truly in awe of the mastery of oil paint and sheer drawing skill. More than any other artist he made me want to draw and make cartoons, and paint, and work out, and lust after girls, and draw some more.

Frank died in May this year, but I didn't hear about it until recently, I guess it wasn't big news. I salute you Frank Frazetta, damn you!

God bless Frank Frazetta, that magnificent bastard. I hope wherever he is, he's having the time of his afterlife.

Would you mind perusing my blog Mr. Smith and telling me what you think.

Frank Frazetta was one of those artistic geniuses who should have lived a few years more, or at least a few more months, IMO. Wherever he may be in the afterlife, I hope he knows how much we have all been touched and inspired by his body of work.

BTW: This is kinda random, but how do you draw really small characters without cramping the details in too much? I was doing this study of an old Tom and Jerry cover and I ran into a few problems with drawing Jerry and Tuffy in scale to Tom (which I happily fixed). Thanks!

Roberto, I draw everything too big and then xerox it down. Do they still use xerox?

You know that God and Frazetta are comparing notes on painting skies.

And Jimi Hendrix is showing God a few licks on the strat.
