Beany & Cecil crap

From 1988, a happy time for me. Before Spumco and all the crap that goes with fame and fortune. This was the first bg drawing I remember, when men were men, and storyboards were drawn on scripts and designs were drawn on Bob's Big Boy napkins.

great stuff. I love to see that I'm not the only one that storyboards (or thumbnails at least) straight onto the script. I wish I still had all my original little script doodles but I lost them back in the move of '02.

To max: Anyone who would like some bg drawing lessons I am open for business. E-mail me at jimsmithcartoons@yahoo.com. Here's a free sample: Study and try to copy bgs exactly in your favorite cartoons. Don't worry about being a copy cat. If you are naturally creative that will show regardless. Post them or e-mail to me and I will grade them just like a school teacher. My fee is low. Once I am back in the black no charge. Up date on the hernia: Mar 12 I will see the surgeon. My blood pressure is down to normal. Thanks for your comments everybody.

I'll light a candle for you on 3/12 Jeem! Yes, and perform lurid voodoo rites, too.

Surgery's no tea party, but you're a man's man and will ace the whole deal. : )

Love yer blog.
